Religious Leaders demand to Declare 25 December as government holiday |

Thursday 27th of December 2007 [ ???????, ??? १२, २०६४ ]
On the auspicious occasion of Christmas NCCN organized a Christmas greetings exchange programme in Katmandu which was attended by leaders of different religious communities, honorable chairman and members of National Human rights Commission, Civil society members, political leaders, media and executive committee members of NCCN. Addressing the programme, NCCN general secretary Dr. K.B. Rokaya said that 25 December should be declared as government holiday. It is the rights of Christian community as the country has been declared as secular state. Leaders of Hindu, Islam and Buddhist community said that they are in favor of full religious freedom and it is the responsibility of the state to guarantee the rights of all religious communities, including Christian, to celebrate their festivals.
Addressing the programme, honorable Chairman of National human rights commission, Mr Kedar Nath Upadhyaya said that NHRC always respects the voice of religious community. He thanked NCCN for organizing this programme.
